Accessing your Authentic Performer
In my journey to becoming a professional singer, the most elusive piece of the puzzle was inner comfort with authentic performance. The idea of standing up in front of an audience and singing triggers similar fears associated with public speaking. I would suggest that singing in front of others might even be more frightening, at least initially.
I had a strong desire to share my gifts with others, that combined with the challenge of becoming good enough to do so, was a rather arduous journey. If I had known how much a performance coach could help me avoid discomfort and access proficiency, with more ease and less effort, I would have found one in a heartbeat.
The upcoming June 29th Singer’s Symposium has brought together professional performance coaches to share their insights and wisdom, so that we can develop understanding around the art of presence and how to activate the artistry of performance. Whether you are a solo singer wanting to become a professional or a choral, a cappella or barbershop singer wanting to be more effective on the risers, this is an educational session not to be missed.
